Bridges Missional Laborer: Victoria
Victoria is a Cru Intern at the University of New Hampshire. Hear how God has been cultivating her passionate heart for international students in the Northeast:
"Grafitti-coated concrete swept past us, bubble letters becoming a blur, as we drove into the city and over a bridge. I had never been to New York City before. I sat on the edge of my seat, peering through the car’s windows, capturing memories. A Cru Intern, volunteer and I were on our way to a Bridges Ambassador conference in NYC, hosted by Bridges staff—the international student ministry for Cru, who work smack dab in the middle of one of the world’s greatest cities.
About a dozen staff from different schools in the Northeast sat around a table with pens and notepads in hand, discussing the vast challenges and idiosyncrasies we’re faced with in reaching the lost nations in the US on our campuses. Various themes for ministering to Chinese, Indian and Muslim students came into the conversation: shame and honor, family and respect, reverence and ritual. My hand couldn’t quite keep up in noting all the fresh insights and new information we received. We left the conference with bridge-building tools, online resources and a rough plan of how to implement it all once arriving back to UNH.
Once back at UNH, I felt somewhat overwhelmed by the number of lost students around me heading to class, long boarding home, waiting for the bus, smoking a cigarette on T-Hall Lawn. Not audibly, but in my heart, I heard the Lord's response, 'This is my campus, and these are my students. You have no need to worry for my light shines and the darkness cannot overcome it. I am at work.'"
Pray God continues to reconstruct our Northeast campuses’ heart to know the true God that has bridged the gap between Him and us!

"Scott (co-intern) and I talked with her for almost an hour about her transition to America, her spiritual background and eventually the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. 'It’s crazy you’re talking to me right now' she said, stunned by God’s sovereign timing and divine appointment. At the end we prayed over her and thanked and hugged one another. She left me her info to pass along to a local Bridges staff member as she explores Christianity."
